Certificate
For network passive cabling infrastructure components, the requirement for CE certification is determined by the component’s classification and its intended use. The framework differs significantly depending on whether the product is considered a general passive electronic component or a construction product intended for permanent building installation.
Electronic components, including many passive elements like cables and connectors, are considered “basic components.” Their safety and EMC performance can often only be correctly assessed once they are integrated into a complete system.
The compliance responsibility for the complete system (including EMC and safety) ultimately rests with the system integrator or network owner who incorporates these passive components into a functioning network.
